ChatRoom Thumbshares!

This week we will be having our first organized thumbshare! Currently it's just writing but we may do art as well!
I'm not sure where all of our members live so right now I'm organizing it so that it best fits my time. In the future if we need to change the preferred time, we can do so. Here is the time:

Oh, good point. Okay, for a thumbshare, you go to the chatroom and go, "Hey, I'd like to get your opinion on this piece of work:" and you use this :thumb######: The number you get from the end of the URL when that deviation is open.

I wasn't sure what a thumbshare was, either. Now that I know, my question is how is this different from asking people to edit your work? Just curious. Don't know if there are benefits that I'm missing because I'm not familiar with them.
